Paddling Rigs

The Sultana Education Foundation operates two mobile canoe and kayak rigs, each capable of taking groups of up to 25 students paddling on a tributary of the Chesapeake Bay in close proximity to their school. In a typical year SEF’s paddling rigs operate on the Susquehanna River in Pennsylvania, the back bays of Assateague Island, the upper Potomac River, and everywhere in between. Many of SEF’s paddling-based programs are closely linked with the National Park Service and the Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Trail.
