ONBOARD THE SCHOONER SULTANA Positions generally posted in November/December and June

DECKHAND/EDUCATOR: The Sultana Education Foundation is seeking a Deckhand/Educator for the 2019 fall season. This fall SULTANA will travel the Chesapeake Bay, visiting ports in Maryland and Virginia and will participate in the Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race. Each year we work with over 4,500 students doing educational day sails. Employment for these positions begins in mid August and continues through November. Applicants with a bachelor’s degree and prior educational/sailing experience are preferred. Applicants must have strong communication skills and an active interest in education. Crewmembers often work 5-day weeks, receive competitive compensation and are provided with a private bunk onboard the ship as well as space in SULTANA’s new crew apartment in Chestertown, Maryland.
