Parking

Thankfully, parking in Chestertown is not a big deal – even on Downrigging Weekend.  Parking is available on the street and in several marked public parking lots. If you are going sailing on one of the Tall Ships, please leave sufficient time to park and make it down to the waterfront. THE SHIPS WILL NOT WAIT!

Coming by Boat

If your are coming with your wooden boat and are interested in reserving docking space and being part of the festival, click here for more information.   If you have a non-wood boat please contact the Chestertown Marina (410-778-3616) to inquire about slip space.     There is also plenty of room to anchor in the river and use the dinghy dock (see waterfront map above for dinghy dock location).

Where to Eat

On the Waterfront (down by the Tall Ships)

Fish Whistle Restaurant & Festival Tent Located just feet from the Tall Ships, the Fish Whistle Restaurant offers premiere waterfront dining for lunch and dinner as well as drinks and bar food late into the evening.    For those seeking something quicker or more casual, look for the large festival tent in the parking lot behind the Fish Whistle for takeout food, beer, and additional picnic-style seating.  The Fish Whistle Festival Tent will be open Friday from 5:00-9:00pm, Saturday from 11:00am to 5:00pm, and Sunday from 11:00am -4:00pm.

The River Packet / Foot of High Street Chestertown’s own River Packet, a 65-foot reproduction of a 1920’s yacht, will be serving food right down on the waterfront with a perfect view of the Tall Ships.    The River Packet will serve pub fare with an open bar from noon – 5:00pm on Friday, October 27, and host a fish fry from 11:00am-4:00pm on Saturday, October 28.
